As part of our links within the local community in the Canterbury area, and as we have begun to emerge from the lockdowns and difficulties faced during the pandemic, we decided that 2022 was the year to run a photography competition for local schools to participate in.
We encouraged local school students to send us their stunning photos of Canterbury and to be entered into a competition to be featured in our 2023 calendar.
#MyOwnCanterbury was a competition open to all Canterbury based school students (aged between 4-18) with a top prize of a £100 Canterbury Gift Card, 2nd place receiving a £50 gift card and 3rd place receiving a £25 gift card. Every entrant whose photograph was added to the calendar received a copy of the calendar as well.
The winning photos were put together into a calendar for 2023 and businesses sponsored some of the pages, so every calendar we sell at our events and via our website is money direct to Catching Lives to directly support the homeless community.
Entries from the competition were also displayed at the Canterbury Festival between 27th-29th October at St Paul’s Church, along with artwork created by our clients.
If you are part of a school community and would be interested in getting involved in our future projects, or run a business and would like to sponsor our 2024 calendar, please get in touch via info@catchinglives.org or call 01227 464904.
