Rosie completes 150 days of movement

Rosie Bartlett has completed 150 days of movement for Catching Lives
Catching Lives Volunteer Coordinator Rosie

Catching Lives's Volunteer Coordinator Rosie Bartlett has completed her 150 days of movement challenge and raised more than £1,000.

Rosie started the challenge in September and rounded it off by taking part in the Barcelona half marathon alongside Queer Run Margate friends on Sunday, February 16.

There is still time to sponsor Rosie, who is raising money for Catching Lives. You can do so via JustGiving. Everyone at Catching Lives is so proud of what Rosie has achieved - moving every day for 150 days - through all weathers. Well done Rosie!

Here's what Rosie had to say about her challenge.

What has been the best thing about this challenge?

I've found strength and resilience in myself again which has been really empowering and I've got huge respect for how amazing our bodies are... being able to go for 150 days and end on a half marathon just shows you how strong and capable we can be, even if you are a bigger person or not what is deemed stereotypically fit. I've also had the most amazing time connecting with friends during different work outs, getting to know them more on long runs and feeling the love and support from them day in day out. I feel very lucky!

What's been the biggest challenge?

Fitting the exercise into my day each day has definitely been a challenge, I've sometimes found myself working out at 11:30pm just to get it done... but also getting out there in the wind and rain or up and out when I have been really tired or not felt so great. It's definitely been both a physical and mental challenge but I always brought it back to why I was doing it in the first place and I always felt better after the workout.

Do you have a message to your sponsors?

A big thank you! Seeing the donations coming in has been motivating and given me a reason to keep going. Somehow, donations would come through just when I needed them to give me another boost of energy. Working at Catching Lives means I can see firsthand where the money is being spent so I've felt very connected to this challenge.

Anything else?

As Volunteer Coordinator it would be a missed opportunity if I wasn't to say, if you want to get involved and volunteer with us, reach out to me at volunteer[at]catchinglives.org 😉"
