Please join us on Monday 13th June for The Funding Network’s Summer Funder, where we will be pitching to raise £10,000!
You can either join the event live and in person from 5:30pm at the offices of Octopus, 33 Holborn, London EC1N 2HT or virtually from the comfort of your own home or workplace starting at 6:30pm and finishing at 8:30pm. To register, please visit: https://buff.ly/3x2qnMm
At the Summer Funder, we’ll be pitching alongside two other highly impactful non-profits who will also be hoping to raise £10,000. We will each have six minutes to make our pitch and a further six minutes for questions from the audience, after which the audience will be invited to pledge funds towards our targets: think TED Talk meets (friendly) Dragon’s Den. You can see how it works by watching this short film.
There’s no obligation to give, but anyone can do so if they wish – donations range from £10 up to £1,000, sometimes more. It’s a fast-paced, exciting way to get involved with innovative non-profits and to spend an evening alongside like-minded people.
At the event, you will hear from
• Katherine Low Settlement – builds stronger communities, tackles poverty and reduces isolation in Battersea and Wandsworth, including for 340 refugee young people as part of their Love to Learn education programme
• Solar Links Initiative – improves health, incomes, well-being, opportunity and the environment in ‘last-mile’ rural communities in East Africa through the introduction of loan-financed, affordable solar-home lighting systems.
• Catching Lives – provides support services 365 days a year for homeless and vulnerably housed people in East Kent, including mental health support, signposting, and advocacy.
It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you may have about the event, otherwise, we hope very much to see you there!
The Funding Network (or TFN) is an open network which connects potential donors to charitable causes and social entrepreneurs through live crowdfunding events. As a collective, they aim to raise money for small non-profits driving social change and help both individuals and businesses to combine their giving with others, to make a bigger impact.
