About Trustees

Our Trustees are responsible for the vision of the charity

Our Trustees

The Trustees are legally responsible for the charity and for setting the vision, mission and strategy of Catching Lives. We aim for our Board to provide diverse input into the decisions made about the charity, and we sometimes recruit new members. Please see our News page where we publish details of any current trustee recruitment.

Trustee Responsibilities

Here are some of the responsibilities of our Trustees:

  • Consider the long-term direction of the charity, its effectiveness and how to drive it forward.
  • Agree how any concerns will be addressed and take action as required.
  • Manage any issues relating to the employment, supervision, training and support of the coordinator.
  • Support the recruitment process for staff and agree their appointment.
  • Monitor and manage the charity’s finances, approving expenditure and overseeing fund-raising.
  • Foster partnerships and maintain links with local partners in Canterbury.
  • Adopt and review the necessary policies and procedures.
  • Manage aspects of general membership and arrangements for AGMs.
  • Ensure Charity Commission, and other legal requirements are satisfied.
  • Apply their specific gifts and talents to the various functions of the initiative
