Ella raises £1500 to help the homeless

We are delighted to announce 6 year old Ella has raised an amazing £1500 to support our charity.

Ella’s fundraising page can be found by clicking  here

We were also pleased to be able to show her around our day centre on boxing day and tell her how much of a difference this money will make to the work we can do.

Ella’s mum explains why Ella decided to support us below…

“Ella would like to help the homeless in Canterbury this Christmas. She has been worried about the homeless and has asked questions ever since she has been able to talk.

Ella would like to help the homeless because she thinks everyone should have food and drink, clothes and a house. Ella thinks it’s important that people help each other.

Ella would like to ask friends and family to help her to help the homeless this Christmas. Ella said that she hopes to still get some presents but doesn’t need as many as she would like friends and family to help the homeless instead.

Canterbury is a small town and many homeless people tend to sit in the same spots. Ella likes giving her food and money when we walk past. If the homeless are not there, Ella gets worried and wonders if they have died. Some homeless have died and people have left cards and flowers and candles and it has been difficult to talk and think about why this happens in the world.

Ella feel strongly that this is not fair. She is worried that some homeless have blankets and others don’t. She is worried that some have shoes and some don’t. She is worried about homeless babies and whether they have nappies.”

Thank you Ella for your wonderful work.
